We moved from 394 University Ave, all the way three blocks up the street into 165 University Ave. This
picture was taken right after the somewhat bloody X.com / PayPal merger, as we are getting ready to move
out, and into our next, now combined office space. Squished on the left are Nhon Tran (one of the X.com's
engineers) and Karen Seto (engineering project manager), happy Erik Klein (my best friend since high-school,
college roomate of four years, and (at the time) a recent co-conspirator at PayPal.) Things are just about
to get really revved up, and so I am moving my sleeping bag from my trunk into the office. It stayed in my
(various) offices all the way until I left PayPal in December 2002. Facing me is Denise Aptekar, one of the
first product managers.
